❝ This is such a nice little paleta... ❞
Why we ❤️ it
It's summer, and we'd start to feel like we may burst into flames at any moment. I am looking forward to walking without the feeling that I might have a heatstroke at any moment.
Luckily, I have my own little cure-all for the summer heat: Paletas!
Passion fruit and milk?
We make Morir soñando by combining milk with any of several citrus juices, typically orange juice, but also bitter oranges or lime juice.
Chinola (passionfruit, fruta de la pasión, maracuyá o parchita) is actually a berry, but since it has a similar sour taste to citrus fruits, it also makes a great Morir soñando de chinola. It isn't very common, though.

Top tips
- Pulp: I use fresh passion fruit pulp in this recipe, which gives the best results and a fresher flavor.
I added a bit of passion fruit pulp because I like its crunchy texture, but feel free to leave it out. - Vanilla: You can add a teaspoon of vanilla if you like the idea.
- Juice: Juice from a carton (even concentrate) will also work.
About this recipe
For this recipe, I have used chinola juice (passion fruit juice) instead of orange, as in the traditional drink.
The result is a great combination of creamy and slightly sour flavor, and of course, the taste and aroma of the magnificent passion fruit.
