How to make the cold clay
Mix everything very well and "cook" it in the microwave at the lowest power setting for 1.5 mins.
Separate it from the recipient and then let it cool. After it cools down, knead until it is smooth and no longer sticky. It's better to use it right away, I didn't have a good result when I tried to use the leftover later.
How to make the cold clay birds
For the body of the bird I made a little ball and then shaped it as a teardrop. Cover your hands with a bit of baby oil or corn starch if the clay is a bit too sticky.
I “pulled” the tip of the teardrop and flattened it to make the tail.
I then pulled material from the other end to make the head.
And then pulled some more to shape the beak. To shape the neck I used the handle of a small brush.
I passed a toothpick through the body and stuck the end of the toothpick on a piece of styrofoam.
This is how I made the wings using two smaller balls. I glued the wings to the sides with a drop of Elmer’s glue and smoothed the base of the wings a bit and bent the top to make them look like spread wings.
When the birds dried after 24 hours I passed a string through the holes and made a knot at the base where the birds would stop sliding down the string.
I used some stuff I had around to hold the two strings.
