LaLa! Handmade Fabric Shoes: Her designs are fresh and unique, the execution is flawless and her photos are lovely.
When I found Daria’s work I was… “mesmerized” must be the word. I had to share it with you
Daria is a former Industrial Designer (as am I), who decided to quit her job to do something she loves: She designs and makes shoes. Soft shoes to be exact. Her designs are fresh and unique, the execution is flawless and her photos are lovely. If you are looking for ideas and inspiration for your own sewing projects, look no more!
Her baby shoes are so cute that it makes me wish I had another baby just to buy those little pieces of art.
Going through her Flickr photostream is an absolute pleasure, you can see the process from producing her designs to the end product.
Daria produces her unique, handmade masterpieces under the brand LaLa! Shoes. This is how Daria describes her work:
LaLa! makes playful and healthy soft sole shoes for babies & toddlers and unique room shoes for girls & women. They are all designed with passion and sewn with care!
I just have a few rules – I work only with 100% wool felt ★ (all Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified), 100% linen and other natural materials, I want my shoes to be functional, comfortable healthy and I want them to look fabulous! In other words, I want to put all my efforts in something I believe in, I’ll be proud of and which I enjoy to do.
Aren’t these silk and linen shoes a joy? This is the kind of thoughtful gift anyone will appreciate. Imagine walking around the house wearing warm, soft silk shoes.
By the way, Daria takes custom orders and makes special designs if requested.
These itsy bitsy shoes are darling. She is not afraid of combining bold colors to great results, but she also has many designs with more subdued color combinations, especially the adult ones.
Something else I love about her work is the absolute attention to detail. She has lovely brand tags, fantastic packing designed by herself, and she adds a bit extra with some of her shoes (like a coordinating bookmark, or a fabric shoe bag).

Thanks Daria for letting me post some of your pictures. Your work is fantastic, keep it coming!
