In one of those Shoot the Breeze Moments, our close friends the Gs and us have talked about what we would do if we win the lottery. We are convinced (and willing to be proved wrong if necessary, in the name of science, of course) that our lives would not change dramatically if that were to happen. None of us is rich, by the way.
Depending on how much money it is, a windfall will probably mean that we will travel more, sleep better having secured our children's education and our old age fund, have some more money to spend, and help some deserving people.
But I have a secret wish: I want to live in a hotel.
Not in a real, actual hotel (I am not a fan of hotels), but turning my home into a hotel of sorts. That means having my own maintenance and cleaning staff, and above all, somebody to make my beds every morning.
The most fantastic thing about hotels (good ones at least), is that you leave your room, and come back to fresh linen and perfectly made bed with impeccable hospital corners. I also like their sparse, and undistracting decor. All my bedrooms have followed that same idea.
And while I am away, sleeping in an actual hotel, I'll be dreaming of coming back to my bed, and our white, serene bedroom. I really, really love white and serene spaces, especially in bedrooms. Yes, I am a complicated person.
This is our bedroom some weeks ago. I will make a couple of changes soon, not much though, I love it as it is already. Below you'll see some beautiful bedrooms that inspire me (click on the picture to enlarge).
White, Serene Refuges - Peaceful Bedrooms:
Hopefully by the time you read this I would be returning home, cross fingers. If I am, a long weekend of cleaning and organizing awaits me. I'll let you know the end of this saga.
Have a great weekend, have fun, and remember: there's no place like home!
