A couple of years ago I bought some inexpensive fine-point pens, and discovered that I really liked them. I do not like my handwriting with some pens, but these were just perfect for my type of writing "technique". Fearing they might not be available the next time I went shopping for pens I bought a couple of dozens (they are very inexpensive).
Then this idea occurred to me, and I started using these cool personalized pens as gifts. They are so easy to make you won't believe it.
I cut a strip of fabric, opened the pen, and inserted the fabric rolled around the ink tube. Then closed it again.
Isn't this the sweetest finishing touch to a gift?
You can also use your favorite paper scraps instead of fabric. You'll get a cute pen, and one that nobody else will have. Let's see if people will walk away with your pens now!
The first pen was part of the set I made for Nadia's teacher last year. The second I made as part of my mom's traveling set, the third was a traveling set for my friend Ilana that I made last year (I'll show you some other day). And the last one I made a couple of weeks ago for myself. I even have a pattern for that bag to share, so stay tuned for details.
Do you have a "perfect" pen too? Does it ever get "lost"?
