One of the highlights of life here is attending the carnival. A parade with the best of the Dominican carnival takes place the last week of lent and attended by thousands of people. It is an event that should not be missed if one is in the area (and worth a visit if one is not).
These are my favorite pictures out of hundreds I took this year.
If I recall correctly, this is a well-known chef and TV personality that disguises himself as the same character (different costume) every year. If there are any Brits out there they’ll get a chuckle out of his name: Randy.

Enough with the beauties, the Dominican carnival is all about the devil and its many incarnations in fantastically horrific masks. These are two of my favorites.
