My original quest: I need to find a website to communicate with Dominicans in the Dom. Rep.; I would like to contact relatives there (Santiago) but I do not have a street address nor a telephone number (all attempts have met with a disconnect or "does not live here"); during these past few days I have been searching through the net but all the sites that I've come across are "singles"/dating services...

Please contact me if you know about an actual site where Dominicans (in the Dom. Rep.) meet to exchange information or establish non-romantic platonic relations.

Secondary quest (after finding site): There are some very specific foods that I would like to attempt to cook--they might be regional but I hope that someone may have come across them...

Since I do not want to violate your site's rules I will await your response (both administrators and members at large); in respect to the food, I lived in Los Minas, Santo Domingo--but my Mom is from Quebrada Honda (not sure if the spelling would be two or one word), deep country.

I've just visited the recepies section and found one of the items... tía Clara, are you loaded with patience? I think I have a problem which goes beyond having the right recepy... I may need you to coach me on how to "make it happen."

I will come back to check on the other recepies... perhaps it will be easier than I thought!
