Hello! I'm Yumi from Japan. I'm married to a Dominican man and currently living in Tokyo Japan. I've visited Dominica once, and I loved the food. It's quite difficult to find many of the ingredient here in Japan, but since I loved it so much during my visit in Dominica, my husband made me mangu, tostones, mofongo, Pollo guisado and Batida de lechoza by referring to this website. Thanks to this page, All of these were sooo good!!! Now I am able to make pollo guisado by myself. I'm going to try making pan de coco this weekend We are planning to visit Dominica again within this year, so I'm looking forward tasting many different dishes. Especially sancocho and enpanada. thank you for reading! Yumi

Welcome Yumi, let us know how it goes with the pan de coco. The country is called the Dominican Republic, DR for short. Dominica is a separate country.

Hi! Thank you for the message. It's nice to hear that you liked the stay in Japan It's a long way to get herebut you came 5 times already!! wow. I guess I put the ingredient in Japanese measurement, so the baking soda was a bit too much which made it taste weird But the pan itself looked(only from outside) very delicious. I will try it again!
