I was in Jamaica this week and the hotel served it for breakfast. Not as bad as the Brits and their kippers, though!

Liver

I like liver, every couple of years is fine with me though; and it must be cooked right, with onions please. If your Dominican you'll understand my story as to why I think I like it.
When my mom was pregnant with me, long ago, jaja, she was at a restaurant in DR and had an "antojo" for someone else's liver dish, and when she said that she wanted that strangers dish, she rubbed her belly and SURPRISE!, I have a birth mark on the right side of my belly where she rubbed hers. Needless to say, the gentleman did not give up his meal for a pregnant woman's "antojos". He wasn't Dominican!!!

higado encebollado

Esa una de mis comidas favoritas, sabroso para el que le guste como yo. El saberlo cocinar es muy importante o queda como suela de zapato., muchas cebollas, estilo dominicano como lo hacia mi papa.

Hi Icelsa, remember that this is the English site. If our polls have any accuracy about 60% of our readers won't understand you.

And yes, "shoe sole" is a very apt comparison.

The way mom cooks it.

Im in the middle of this one. My mom being the great cook that she is made it taste great, but when cooked by non cookers. what a terrible tasting food. My mom often made it fried plantains. I can only eat liver one or twice a year. Its not the food that i go out of my way to eat.

I Hate Liver!!!!! They bring the worst memories ever!!!!!! I remember when my mom used to make them Guisados. Man did they smell GRRRREAT! I would smell it and think it was carne de res. when it came time to eat I would take a large portion of it and take the absolute largest bite to, then, find out it was liver. What a rude awakening! The meat tastes HORRIBLE!!! I would end up just eating the platanos mojado con la salsa. I'd never feed this to a loved one. Not even an enemy. BLAGH! I'd say I hate it as much as your husband, Tia clara!
