I am 1/2 dominican(father) and 1/2 black(mother)... I am very familarized with the American culture and ways of cooking. When I was 8, I started going to the DR with my padres to visit my abuelitos who always cooked, I mean always!!! When I turned 17, we stopped taking trips to the DR because we moved from Florida to NC. I am an aspiring chef and I definately want to know more about my dominican heritage.. well more than what my father taught me!!! I want to experience it more since Im not able to get to the DR myself and hopefully one day open up a restaurant here in NC servN Dominican dishes!!!

Thanks Aunt Clara.. superr lovee the site!!!!

So, what's your reason for being here?
I'm Puerto Rican & my husband is Dominican. I love to cook, however I learned how to cook Dominican Style & I also love dominican food. Very similar to Puerto Rican food. Although I have to say I love the way Dominicans make their beans, & my favorite Arepa.
