So, what's your reason for being here?

I am caribbean which for a lot of us mean that we have family from many different places. I have unts and other family members from the dominican so i am familiar with the food as the majority of dominican food in one way or the other is the same. When I found the site, I was happy that I could now make lot of the food that I remember eating as a child including arroz con gandules, tostones, mangu and pollo guisado.

Thank you so much for giving all of us Caribenos the recipes close to our hearts.

My husband is the Dominican in my house (well and my daughter who's 1/2 Dominican). When we first started dating he used to say how he missed food his mom used to cook. Later I found this website & have used it faithfully every since. Every once in a while I'll make something from this site & he'll say "man I haven't had that in year"...it just makes me smile.
