I am caribbean which for a lot of us mean that we have family from many different places. I have unts and other family members from the dominican so i am familiar with the food as the majority of dominican food in one way or the other is the same. When I found the site, I was happy that I could now make lot of the food that I remember eating as a child including arroz con gandules, tostones, mangu and pollo guisado. Thank you so much for giving all of us Caribenos the recipes close to our hearts. |

| My husband is the Dominican in my house (well and my daughter who's 1/2 Dominican). When we first started dating he used to say how he missed food his mom used to cook. Later I found this website & have used it faithfully every since. Every once in a while I'll make something from this site & he'll say "man I haven't had that in year"...it just makes me smile. |
