We are proud to announce that our twin site CocinaDominicana.com has won the Arroba de Oro Award in the Art and Culture category. We are very happy to see that our cuisine is being recognized as an important part of our cultural heritage, and why not? we are flattered to have our effort recognized.

Arroba de Oro is organized by Diario Libro newspaper and sponsored by many local institutions and companies. Winners were presented with their awards in a grand gala, in which important personalities of our country were present.

Last year this site was nominated but did not win, it fell on our sister site in Spanish to do the job.

Aunt Ilana, who represented us, will soon bring us the news and photos of the event.

Society - Dominican Today - Dominican cooking website wins award

The Arroba de Oro awards ceremony is going to be shown on Antena Latina at 8pm tonight, Saturday 8 December.

I won't be watching but if you do, you can rate my acceptance speech on a scale of 0 (deer in headlights) to 10 (Oscar winning megadivas, eat your hearts out).

Darn! I don't have TV. :(
