Goat meat preparation (reduce smell)

I am very iffy with this meat because I don't like the way it smells. Is there anything I can wash it with during the preparation stage to kind of make the smell go away. I heard that if I wash it with milk and lemond juice the smell will be reduced. Has anyone heard of this before? How true is this?
