Cake Help with using a different filling in Dominican cake

Hello!

I absolutely HATE pineapple filling!

So, when I buy Dominican cake, I love buying the ones with a brown paste filling (I think it is caramel).

Do you know how I can make and incorporate this filling into the recipe instead of the pineapple filling?

Thank you!

I think it is dulce de leche. If you are as lazy as I am, buy a jar of Argentinian dulce de leche. Add as filling after the cake is baked.
