My late Puerto Rican bis-abuela god rest her soul, always stored food in the freezer. I'm talkin' sopita in the little ice trays!!! It could be more than a dominican thing- maybe it's an "old school" thing? lol

So, I Think Is For Practic, Like This Is Easy To Cook, Because Many Think You Can Have Ready In The Freezer. I Think Is Good Idea.

Freezer...

I have been wondering about blanching and freezing vegetables, so I don't have to go shopping every 3-4 days for fresh veggies. I just have to get to do it the first time, so I stop being scared about it

But I do love the idea of keeping 'sopita' in the ice cube trays... That would be handy for quick seasoning. I cook with stock a lot, trying to avoid 57 cups of oil in each recipe. So something to ponder

Freezing veggies destroy some of the nutrients. It's only good if there's no alternative. But better freezing than wasting.

Ah. Well, if the nutrients aren't there, then there's no point. The shortcut does not satisfy my nutritional needs in that case. But you are right, better freezing than wasting, so I guess I better find a place close to a market when its time to move again.
