Red Onions

Good Morning Everyone,

Last night I ate at a Dominican restaurant called The Malecon, and I had the best Red Onions that tasted like vinegar, does anyone know hot to get the onions to taste like that, are they put in a jar with vinegar and left there for a period of time? If anyone has any idea on how to duplicate this I would really appreciate the recipe.

Thank You and Happy V Day!!!

So;n deliciosas, a mis hijos les gustan mucho.
Disfrutenlo

There is something similar in this recipe: Mangú (Mashed plantains).
