Well I am Mexican American and my husband is Dominican. We do have minor problems sometimes, but not too big. We like most of the same food. He takes care of me and I take care of him because we love eachother. My husband still lives in the DR and I am here in Michigan working on his papers for his visa. I am sure we will have a great time when he gets here to the US for the first time. I am excited, well we both are excited. I have traveled all over the US but when Dario and I travel he will be seeing everything this beautiful country has to offer.
My family struggled to get here to the US and I say I am extremely lucky to be American, but I still call myself mexican because that is my heritage and I will never forget it!!!
But now after all these years being around dominicans my family says I am dominicana because my spanish has changed. I no longer speak espanol mexicano I speak more like a domincana!!
My husband says I am dominicana not mexicana now.
