I'm not so sure about that tooth paste thing... I got an oven burn the other day and was in so much pain I couldn't think. I ran to the sink to put my hand on cold water and put some ointment on it. It was all better in 3 days.
The day before yesterday, a friend of mine had a similar burn and used this toothpaste method... believe me, it's not better than the ointment.
