I can understand what someone is saying sometimes, but I gave up on trying to speak Spanish. I had a bad expereince where some other girls (my race) told me I didn't act (my color) because I was trying to learn Spanish, dance and was dating a Puerto Rican guy at the time. So I stopped cold turkey and didn't bother with it, but I regret that. Now, since my husband is Dominican, I wish I would have kept on learning everything. The couple of times I did speak Spanish in public to my husband,people's heads snapped around looking at me funny, I just laughed them.
