| Samana Slaw I visited Samana last winter and I had the best slaw that I have ever had and am trying to find a recipe Perhaps someone can help. We ate at an open air stand. When we docked at the city dock we turned left headed toward the center of town and walked about a mile or so. On the right side of the main street we were walking down was a small open air eatery that the locals frequent, we had not made the turn into the main part of town yet and from where we sat you could look out into the sea. They have the speciality Dominican BBQ chicken , I cannot remember the name. Anyway we ordered up the chicken and it came with a slaw, sort of cabbage based salad. We ate at picini tables and the local dogs hung around for scraps. The place was crowded with locals and not tourist. It was an mobile trailer that had been made stationary and the door hinged out to open the window where you placed your order. Than you sat down and they brought you your food. Any body know this place? How about the slaw? A |

| Aunt Ilana is our Samana expert, maybe she has seen the place . I don't know the recipe for that dish. Maybe if you give us some more details we can figure it out. |
