| Desserts - Beverages A good Dominican meal will not be complete without a dulcito (a sweet) right before 'el cafecito' that dots the i in our meals. A tropical country and a great variety of fruits make for Dominicans' taste for juices and shakes. |

| Dominicans are big fans of herbal medicine, which can be good or bad, depending on a number of things. Of the least controversial of these remedies tizanas are the most popular. | Lime leaves you'll probably need from an actual tree. I don't think it is sold anywhere. Mint is easy, any mid-sized supermarket should carry them, as well as limes (use lemon if you don't find limes). |
