She's finally here! My big bouncy bubba finally arrived on Monday, 12 days later than expected. She's a big girl and weighed in at 9lbs 6oz/4.1kgs. I'm still recovering from the shock of a quick labour - 2 hrs 25 mins. I had a natural birth after previously having a caesarean, with just gas and air for pain relief, although there wouldn't have been enough time had I chosen anything else. I'm feeling very proud of myself and in my beautiful little girl. My first daughter is also loving the new arrival. I'm struggling to get breastfeeding established though, can't seem to get a good latch. Any tips?

Many congratulations and well done, Cheeky Charlie. Big girl indeed. Hope you'll be sharing some photos with us. The English forum needs a baby to coo over, to go with little Hamlet on the Spanish side ![]() Cocina Dominicana - Ver post - Cuidados de Bebes I think the only trick at this stage as far as breastfeeding is concerned is perseverance, and following the advice of your breastfeeding counselor, health visitor, midwife, etc. Good luck and again, felicidades!

I forgot to mention we've named her Eliana, no middle names yet though. It's been hard work so far but I'm loving every minute of it! I also now appreciate the amount of time newborns spend sleeping, as I was a bit worried about not having time for Mia (the big sister). Breastfeeding is coming along now. I had SPD (symphisis pelvic dysfunction) during pregnancy and the pain did get worse a few days after giving birth, so I've been a bit uncomfortable and I think that's had alot to do with our struggle to get baby on the breast. I am determined to keep going with it as long as I possibly can as I wasn't able to with Mia, despite really wanting to. Check out my flickr for pics: Flickr: Photos & Video from charlene82

What a beautiful thing! She looks a lot like my daughter when she was born. A small present from all of us is on the way for the little princess.

It may be amazing but she just looks like my son(when he born). I shall be posting his pictures somewhere and post the link here. Congratulations for Eliana.
