Desserts - Beverages

A good Dominican meal will not be complete without a dulcito (a sweet) right before 'el cafecito' that dots the i in our meals. A tropical country and a great variety of fruits make for Dominicans' taste for juices and shakes.

Tick a big hit with my co-workers

I learned to make Ginger tea from my mother but I needed a recipe to give to my coworkers. During the cold months here I started making it & had one of my coworkers taste it because she had commented on how nice my tea smelled. Well she liked it so I deciced to make a big batch and bring it to the office. I'm the only latina and Dominican in my department so they just love the food I bring in. I made Te de Jengibre for my coworkers, supervisor & manager, and they absolutely love it. Even though I gave them the recipe they still liked it better when I make it . I have made a few times during the cold days (I live in Philadelphia) and it has been a great success with them. It's so soothing and specially during the cold mornings.
Thanks for the recipe! thanks for having this site.
