Curvy bag for Ms. K.
July 20, 2010
I always hung out with guys, even in school I was quite the tomboy. While my classmates were pining for the boy band du jour, I was listening to Ozzie and fart jokes.
But what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? See, the thing is that I like how the male mind works. They usually see things from unusual perspectives. When I finished this curvy bag for
my daughter’s assistant teacher, I gleamed with pride at my handiwork, at my creating my very own pattern, at the nice combination of fabrics I chose. My husband told me the bag looked “like boobs”.
Thanks honey, that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said about my sewing.
For this cute curvy bag I used some fabric I had from Who Knows When, and half a yard of Secret Life of Fairies Tossed Flowers from
Fabric.com
bought a couple of months ago. I finished it with my Ms. K’s initial and a butterfly button.
Inside it was lined with the same flowery fabric, and I added a pocket. The bag closes with a zipper. As with almost all my bags, I used
fusible fleece,

it gives the bag body.
Each strap is sewn on one side and attached with a square ring on the other side (each on opposite sides). Except for the straps, there are no straight lines in this bag. It is pretty roomy too.
I liked it so much that I made one for myself. And I even made pattern, I’ll post it next week, stay tuned in for it, then you can make your own Boob Bag. Heh!
Is your spousal unit’s humor different than yours? Who’s the one telling the fart jokes at home?

Ha! I can totally see my husband say the same thing
We both do the fart jokes.
I was looking at it, thinking huh? hmmm… huh? And then I got to the last picture. Aha, now I see the boobs! Cute bag, boobs or no.Oh, and I am the fart joker. I come from a family of fart jokers. My husband is much more reserved.
My husband and I make fart jokes, and Nadia think that both farts and fart jokes are hilarious. Her favorite song is "Farts and Burps" from a Danish TV show for children.
What an amusing post.. boobs bag.. I can hear the boys in my house giggling now!!It's very pretty by the way, I'm sure Ms. K. loves it!
Very pretty ! I love the button .
Thanks! The button is my favorite thing too.
I really like your bag and specially the form!!! I think, the comment of your hubby means, that he just saw, its "feminin" qualities…!!!! Because it is in fact, beautiful and very feminin! So, you can do be proud about it Clara!!
I've read a couple of your posts and I loved all of them… especially those about sewing and the one about the buttons (I love buttons and when I have some free time I paint the plain wooden buttens I bought lately =)I adore your work and find it very inspiring. I sew, knit and crochet myself and love seeing other people's work… so thank a lot for sharing!!!My six-month-old is the one with the fart jokes in my family by the way… he starts grinning whenever he farts =) but I guess that's just what babies do =)P.S. Is there any way to get some kind of instruction or measures for the wallets you made…? I just love them!!!:*
