Like each year for the last 4 years I spent a March afternoon photographing the PuntaCana carnival and marveling at the ingenuity and creativity of its participants. Beautiful women, fierce masks, dames of questionable gender, people of all ages, colors and several nationalities meet for this impressive parade.
While I was making pictures (thanks to the PuntaCana group for the press pass), Aunt Ilana, her son and my daughter were enjoying the awesome hospitality of the Supermercado Nacional chain in their box. I heard they were treated very well and fed to the gills.
The PuntaCana carnival is very well organized and safe, definitely a great reason to visit the area during the month of March. The party ended with an Eddy Herrera concert. By that time I was home totally knackered.
Here are a few of hundreds of pictures I took that day.

Aunt Clara's Kitchen is a collection of traditional Dominican and Dominican-inspired recipes, home ideas, crafts, and the chronicles of Aunt Clara and Aunt Ilana's adventures.
